PLAY! BY SEPHORA: JULY REVIEW

Sorry for skipping a few months! In all honestly, I was pretty disappointed with June’s Box for Play! By Sephora. I thought that when I signed up for the box it asked me my skin/hair type and those basic questionnaire things but they sent me face tanner and curly hair conditioner which will definitely not be utilized by me.

However, July may be the one to redeem my favors.

This box’s theme is summer outings, “staycations” and “glamping”. I loved the design of the bag and the illustration of the handout. I’m always pleasantly surprised by the graphics that accompany the box as it’s a cute cartoon without being too cartoon or too realistic.

Here are the contents of the box:

Milk Makeup Cooling Water– Wow I really love this. I’ve been applying it when I wake up on my under eye circles. I like to leave it in the fridge for optimized cool refreshing, but even when it’s not chilled it comes out on the skin cold.

IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara– Nice for lengthening and separating lashes. I didn’t think it gave me full volumized lashes though but I’ll give it a few more tries.

Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment – I actually already own this product so I was like, “Cool! I’ll use this when I run out.” It calms and cools the skin when applied and smells nice and aromatic. The smell reminds me of Asian skincare in general– herbal and relaxing. It’s good for sensitive skin, but I wouldn’t depend on this if you’re trying to empty your pores. It’s more for calming, moisturizing, and minimizing pores and for that reason probably wouldn’t repurchase.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray– Smells and feels delectable. It’s great for smoothing damaged hair without being greasy or heavy. I think the price of the full sized is a bit too high for other similar products you could get at Sephora though.

BareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor in Swag- This is a really cute pink that’s just a tad too light for my skin tone. I really like BareMinerals products but I didn’t find their Gen Nude lipsticks to have any staying power. Maybe it’s because of the texture but they feel a little sticky to me.

Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine– This is rather biased of me but I love love love citrusy scents! I wouldn’t say this smells like a “relaxed summer morning” but rather peeling a really juicy orange. It’s a playful scent but overpowering.

Pretty pleasantly surprised with this box! I’ve felt like Sephora boxes have really been playing by the seasons so I’m excited to see what’s up next for August.
