Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a revolutionary makeup line. They really make good on their tagline, “Beauty for All”. With over 40 different shades available of their Pro Filt’r foundation, Fenty Beauty is challenging an industry built with a troubled history of inclusion. Many beauty brands have come under fire for their failure to create foundation for darker skin tones. However, Fenty Beauty’s shades are as diverse as they are glamorous. With four different ranges; Light, Medium, Tan, and Deep, there’s bound to be a shade for everyone.
I’ve always been a fan of Rihanna’s music, unmatched fierce style, and bad girl attitude, so when Fenty Beauty was released at Sephora, I was really excited to check it out!

Match Stix Trio & Gloss Swatch- Left to Right, Linen, Amber, Starstruck and Gloss Bomb.
Here is my experience with some products from the Fenty Beauty line:
Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
Okay, so let me just say that it took me an outrageously long time of swatching to find my shade, which isn’t a bad problem to have. I eventually settled for Medium 230 which is very close to my actual skin tone. I think it may just be a tiny smidge darker but I definitely think it’s the closest foundation match I’ve ever found. This foundation is matte and buildable but I don’t need a lot of product. The color is amazing and it’s lightweight on my face but I don’t think it’s the best match for my skin type. I have combination skin, which means my face can be both oily and dry. The Pro Filt’r is actually too matte for me that and comes out as a chalky consistency when I try to build it up. After watching some other reviews, it seems I’m not the only person who has this problem. I’m kinda hoping that they’ll make some adjustments to the formula to make it a little less matte and more silky.

The highlighter in Starstruck
This is my favorite product from her line! It’s very easy to use and the color payoff is great. At first I tried the medium trio but it was far too warm for my skin tone. I ended up exchanging it for the light trio which is a cooler tone. I’m a fan of the contour stick, but the concealer stick is far too pale. The highlighter is incredible. It transforms my cheek into a shining star plucked from the sky. However, I have the same complaint as the foundation that it’s too matte.
Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
I receive a ton of compliments when I wear this lip gloss! I’m not particularly a lip gloss gal, but this “lip luminizer” is a universally flattering shade and tastes like fruit punch.
